WISE, POSTS SECOND-PLACE FINISH AT POCONO RACEWAY IN
ARCA RE/MAX SERIES RACE

FOR IMMEDIATE RELEASE LONG POND, Pa.
(August 5, 2007) – Josh Wise posted his career best ARCA RE/MAX Series finish by crossing the finish line in second-place behind the wheel of the No. 22 NAPA AUTO PARTS Toyota Camry Saturday afternoon. “My guys had awesome pit stops all day and I need to thank them,” Wise said. “I hate it for Jeremy (Clements), who ran out of gas leading there at the end. He drove a heck of a race and man I really had to try hard to get to him. I'm happy for Michael (McDowell), my teammate who won. He did an awesome job there. It was a really fun race. I really feel like I should have won that race; I just lost momentum there. Jeremy [Clements] took his car right to the bottom and when he did my car went up the track and that hurt us." Wise started second and maintained a top-five run before pitting at Lap 26. “We needed forward bite at that point,” Wise said. “The guys did a great job and didn't give up on trying to make the car handle better.” Restarting 10 th on Lap 30, Wise reentered the top-five within 10 laps. Wise moved into second-place before pitting again with half the field under caution at Lap 47 for adjustments.

“We had been a little tight in the center and loose off,” Wise said. After restarting 16 th on Lap 50, Wise moved into eighth-place six laps later as he escaped a wreck that warranted the race to be red flagged. “The 5 car (Bobby Gerhart) was on the outside of me and I'm not sure what happened, but the next thing I know he was spinning beside me collecting a bunch of cars behind him,” Wise said. “We were really lucky to avoid it and glad that everyone was okay.” Wise continued his climb and in the closing laps passing Jeremy Clements for the lead momentarily with five laps to go. Settling back into second on that same lap, Wise was calculating his next move as the leader ran out of fuel on the last lap. Wise fought hard for the win as his teammate, Michael McDowell, made a pass for the victory. “I'm proud of everyone, but at the same time disappointed we didn't win,” Wise said. “We just lost momentum there at the end and I really hate we did. Eddie Sharp Racing had a good day. I'm just thankful I'm able to race in a variety of Series to gain experience. My next race will be in a NASCAR Craftsman Truck (Darrell Waltrip Motorsports) at Nashville Superspeedway.”
